Le petit établissement rural du début du 5e millénaire, localisé dans la haute vallée de la Diyala, Iraq, se place sur l'horizon qui forme la transition entre Obeid III et Obeid III du sud de l'lraq. Le mieux préservé des quatre niveaux comporte trois bâtiments à plan tripartite avec une cour centrale. La céramique de Tell Rashid, comme celle du site voisin contemporain Tell Abada, présente des relations stylistiques avec celle de l'lraq du Nord et du Sud et des pays voisins. (revue)

This small rural settlement of the early 5th millennium B. C., located in the upper Diyala foothills of Iraq, is of the period transitional between Ubaid II and Ubaid III in southern Iraq. The best preserved of the four strata had three architectural units, each of a tripartite plan with central walled court and flanking rooms. Like the contemporary ceramics of nearby Tell Abada, those of Tell Rashid exhibit stylistic relations with those of both northern and southern Iraq and adjacent areas.
