(revue) ; The survey of the Rissori layer has made it possible to observe how a periglacial expanding sheet evolved during the late Pleistocene. This sheet can be ascribed to the Saalian on account of its position under a clearly defined reference level which is distinctive of the Eemian. This reference level supports a thick layer of gravels which was soliflued during the early pleniglacial period and is partly covered with loamy outliers and blown sands. The components of the weichselian gravels result — at least in part — from the resumption of the saalian formation above the place of excavation. The same saalian industry without handaxes and rich in unretouched levallois flakes was discovered in the Rissori gravels. It includes a moderate rate of side-scrapers and rather few denticulates, notches and tools of upper palaeolithic type. .Topo: Rissorié Mots libres: Masnuy-Saint-Jean . The survey of the Rissori layer has made it possible to observe how a periglacial expanding sheet evolved during the late Pleistocene.
