Our late colleague Maurizio Tosi (1944-2017), the original investigator of Shahr-i Sokhta, and the first explorer of Tappeh Graziani, would certainly have welcomed the follow-up of the series he was thinking about, when almost 40 years ago he entitled a major collection of articles on the results of his research Prehistoric Sistan 1 (1983a). To his memory, this contribution is respectfully dedicated, in the spirit of unbroken collaboration and consolidated friendship that has never stopped between Iranian archaeologists and Institutions and the Italian side.
